Age Verification Policy (21+)

1) 21+ access requirement

• You must be at least 21 to browse, register, or use features that require an account.
• If you are under 21, do not use the site and do not submit personal information.

2) Age-gating measures

We use age-gating controls designed to deter underage use, which may include: date-of-birth prompts, account-level age confirmation, and risk-based checks (for example, when activity indicates a higher likelihood of underage access).

3) Verification checks we may use

Depending on the situation, we may verify age using one or more of the following methods, directly or via a verification provider:

• ID validation (e.g., passport, driver licence) and basic authenticity checks.
• Selfie/face match to confirm the ID belongs to you (where offered).
• Payment or account checks (e.g., cardholder age eligibility signals), used for verification only.
• Database checks or other lawful methods available in New Zealand.

4) What data may be requested

We aim to collect the minimum needed to confirm you are 21+. This may include: your full name, date of birth, a photo/scan of an ID document, a selfie (if used), and limited metadata needed to prevent fraud (e.g., device/IP signals). Where possible, we store a verification result (pass/fail and timestamp) rather than the full document image.

We handle personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and our privacy policy. Verification data is retained only as long as needed for the purposes above, then deleted or de-identified.

5) Underage accounts and suspected underage use

• If we determine (or reasonably suspect) a user is under 21, we may restrict access, suspend or close the account, and invalidate related access tokens.
• We may request additional verification before restoring access.
• Where required for safety, legal compliance, or dispute handling, we may retain limited records of the enforcement action.
